Acrylic
Acrylics are flexible and reliable, but they always present a challenge.
I like using Acrylics for my graphics - still frames representing life with abstract ideas. I use paint brushes on unprimed canvas, allowing the service of the canvas to absorb the paint quickly. Acrylics is an instant medium. It challenges me to be more aware and complete compositions on reaction, with no second-guessing.
Most of my Acrylics were based on commissioned works in the States. As ‘graphics’, they acted as advertising pieces.
"I think very often it takes ten of those over-labored efforts to produce one really beautiful wrist motion that is synchronized with your head and heart, and you have it, and therefore it looks as if it were born in a minute."
— Helen Frankenthaler
